The rest of the characters, and the setting of Raleigh, North Carolina is fictionalized here circa 1940. Summary: Janice and Melinda are settling in at Melinda's family home in Raleigh, North Carolina. Janice is job hunting, Melinda's mother is being a pain in the rump, and Melinda's struggles to fit back into the society roles she left are more complicated than she had hoped. Not to mention trouble is still following Jan and Mel from Europe.
